INTASC Standard: Standard #5: Application of Content
The teacher understands how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues. (INTASC, 2011)
Brief Description of Evidence:
As party of my Technology in Education course EDUC 201 taken the spring semester of 2014 at Ivy Tech Community College I created a technology tools list. I learned how to locate and produce quality resources and as a class we developed a network of shared resources to be used in our future instructional profession.
Analysis of What I Learned:
I have enriched my toolbox enabling me to use an array of differing perspectives to reach all of my future students ensuring that they think critically, creatively, and collaboratively. Providing these strategies equips students to engage in real world concerns.
How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the INTASC Standard:
By completing my technology tools list my competency is demonstrated through my application of content by furthering my knowledge of technology and better preparing me for the 21st Century classroom. Having engrained Indiana’s State Standards into the core of this artifact demonstrates my competency and commitment to lifelong learning and the achievement of my future students.
